Here is the official phpCVSView website. phpCVSView is aimed at being the only tool you will need if you run a website for a project using CVS for your source control. It currently provides "pserver" connectivity to your source repository.

The Version 1.0 release is anticipated to include

  • Local file system access support
  • PServer repository access
  • External repository access
  • Internationalization (i18n)
  • Theme support
  • Multiple repository support
  • Downloading of source tarball (.tgz and .zip formats)

phpCVSView Version 0.3 Released

Date: Sun, 27 Nov 2005 02:46:16 -0000

Well it has been almost a year since the last release by our project, and that make me feel a little embarrassed that we have taken this long to produce the current enhancements.

Please download and upgrade you installations as there are many enhancements available in the new version.

These enhancements are detailed in the change log for this version which is available at http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=374017&group_id=76486.

So as a final note, please (as usual) let us know about any bugs you find and report them through the bug tracker at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=76486&atid=547259. If you have a feature you would like to have included in phpCVSView, then please submit it through the feature request tracker at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=76486&atid=547262.

Kindest Regards,

phpCVSView Version 0.2 Released

Date: Wed, 22 Dec 2004 12:07:44 -0000

Well, after much re-coding of the core operations on the project, and a great deal of assistance from Sijis, I am proud to announce the release of Version 0.2 of phpCVSView.

This new version has been completely re-architected to get away from the many limitations earlier releases had with the actual CVS protocol. We have also added infrastructure to the code to allow for theming, although at this stage the user interface does not support the changing of theme. Basic CVS module support has been added, and like the other additions to the codebase, they will be enhanced as the project continues.

The code as it stands is currently only at pre-alpha quality, with many enhancements and optimisations yet to come.

I can see the question being asked that if it is only pre-alpha why package up another version? Well the answer is simple, whilst this work has been being performed, I have received numerous email from people asking whether the project is still being developed, as many people seem to have downloaded the brokem 0.1.5 version, and this has prompted the contact.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be getting together a list of enhancements and new features for what is planned in the upcoming releases.

Please note, that this code will not operate from the sourceforge.net project websites, as SF have firewalls which block any connections from the project web servers.

On a final note, please make suggestions for features that you would like to see in the project so we can focus our efforts on the items which would be most useful.

Kindest Regards,
Brian Cheeseman.

Coding progressing well.

Date: Sun, 06 Apr 2003 09:01:29 -0000

Coding is progressing extremely well with the phpCVSView project, and as a result a first alpha release should be available for download within a week.

The current release will provide the following features:

* PServer access to the repository
* Directory (and module) browsing
* File revision log viewing
* Viewing of any revision of a file
* Downloading of any revision of a file
* Editable page header
* Editable page footer

This release will be published upon completion of some initial documentation. Once completed work will begin on the PostNuke module code which will be installed on the project site (http://phpcvsview.sourceforge.net/) to access it's own CVS Repository.
